Scroll to the bottom of this page to comment (your email address won't be published). You’ll also need to be a subscriber to our monthly email newsletter to be a winner, so if you're not already signed up, fill in your email address in the grey band right at the bottom of this page. You can unsubscribe at any time if you don’t enjoy our monthly updates.
Your plans for your 2021 garden might be simple - ours is to plant more white flowers in the wildlife bed, to keep the all-day buffet going after dark so the moths can enjoy it too. You may want to grow more of your own fruit and veg next year, or branch out into new and unusual crops. Perhaps you have your eye on trying some heritage varieties of familiar favourites.
Or you might have grander plans - a new greenhouse, perhaps, to accommodate the ever-growing plant population in your garden. Or perhaps grander still, if you're lucky enough to have the space to play with - maybe a wildlife pond, landscaping a terrace on a gradient, or planting a copse of native trees... Whatever gardening vision you see in your mind's eye, we'd love to hear about it!

The winner will be chosen on the basis of the most inspiring gardening plans for 2021 and the judges’ decision will be final. One winner will receive one (1) pack of gardening tools from Burgon & Ball, either the Avid Allotmenteer of the Gorgeous Gardener prize as outlined above. Prize draw opens at 00:01 on 28/12/2020 and closes at 23:59 on 03/01/2021. Winner will be contacted by Burgon & Ball shortly after the closing date. I’m planning on growing more of my own veg and plant fruit bushes. I have some raised beds that need attention so I want to bring them back and make full use of them. The same goes for the polytunnel. The lawns days are also numbered! All done with nature in mind so I make sure I have mixed boarders with human and wildlife food in mind. The ivy growing up trees and walls is encouraged as food for insects and birds.
We need to cut back the ‘dwarf’ Bramley apple tree, as it’s not very dwarflike and is almost as tall as the house! The lawn needs a good sort out, and we need to do something with the gravel area where the picnic table used to be. Plants love our garden, they all grow like mad – but it means that everything is bigger than intended!
We are getting our garden completely redone in April so once and we will have wooden bedding sleepers so I will be choosing some beautiful flowers to go into them.
Our plans are to build on our experience of no-dig vegetable gardening this year. We want to increase the range of soft fruit and vegetables that we grow. This year we grew kale, butternut, beetroot, tomatoes, strawberries and raspberries. We’d add to these with peppers, aubergines, blackcurrents, brussel sprouts, sweetcorn and peas.
