Garden Secateurs & Pruning Tools

Burgon & Ball produces a wide range of secateurs and pruners to suit all gardening jobs and all gardeners – whatever their strength or hand size. It’s essential to choose the right tool for the cutting task in hand:

• Anvil Action – the cutting blade chops down onto the anvil. Recommended for powerful pruning of hard and dead wood.
• Bypass Action - the cutting blade bypasses the anvil as it closes. Recommended for healthy pruning of live stems and green wood.
• Scissor Action – two blades, moving simultaneously. Recommended for cutting green or very slender growth.

The majority of our blades are made from high carbon steel, precision hardened and tempered to the correct Rockwell value for the particular task for which the tool will be used. We use the testing services of the Cutlery and Allied Trades Research Association to ensure our cutting tools are of the highest quality.
