Scroll to the bottom of this page to comment (your email address won't be published). You’ll also need to be a subscriber to our monthly email newsletter to be a winner, so if you're not already signed up, fill in your email address in the grey band right at the bottom of this page. You can unsubscribe at any time if you don’t enjoy our monthly updates.
Your plans for your 2021 garden might be simple - ours is to plant more white flowers in the wildlife bed, to keep the all-day buffet going after dark so the moths can enjoy it too. You may want to grow more of your own fruit and veg next year, or branch out into new and unusual crops. Perhaps you have your eye on trying some heritage varieties of familiar favourites.
Or you might have grander plans - a new greenhouse, perhaps, to accommodate the ever-growing plant population in your garden. Or perhaps grander still, if you're lucky enough to have the space to play with - maybe a wildlife pond, landscaping a terrace on a gradient, or planting a copse of native trees... Whatever gardening vision you see in your mind's eye, we'd love to hear about it!

The winner will be chosen on the basis of the most inspiring gardening plans for 2021 and the judges’ decision will be final. One winner will receive one (1) pack of gardening tools from Burgon & Ball, either the Avid Allotmenteer of the Gorgeous Gardener prize as outlined above. Prize draw opens at 00:01 on 28/12/2020 and closes at 23:59 on 03/01/2021. Winner will be contacted by Burgon & Ball shortly after the closing date. I lost my Dad to Covid and stepdad to MND both in April this year. My garden has been my saviour and I intend to plant two trees for them. I also want a new greenhouse which I will strive to get because last year has reminded me to do things now because you never know when your time is up . We’re in the process of transforming our garden into a rose and wildlife haven. We are currently building a large pergola with a seating area. It will be covered in 6 varieties of David Austin climbing roses. We also have roses that we have just finished planting along the south facing perimeter of the garden, a mixture of climbers and shrubs, all highly scented and repeat flowering. They will be underplanted with the likes of Lavender and Salvia plants, to attract the butterflies and bees . We have planned another area of garden that we have dedicated to attracting as much wlldlife as possible and a veg patch with raised beds next to the greenhouse. I can’t wait for spring/summer to arrive, our garden is undergoing an incredible transformation right now. Once established, its going to look and smell gorgeous and will be buzzing with all kinds of fascinating creatures. It’s a lot of hard work for us but will be worth it in the end.
I want to create a wildlife haven. I already have some plants to encourage bees, butterflies and birds but would like to expand and do more. I bought a bird bath during lockdown and extra bird feeders and found it therapeutic to watch them.
I was made redundant due to Covid 19 and, as I don’t have my own garden, I decided to help other people who can no longer manage to look after their’s.
It meant I got fresh air and exercise and had something to keep me busy and they got the help they needed.
Although I don’t have much horticultural knowledge or experience, many of the people I help do. They are happy to give me instructions and pass their knowledge on to me and it means they are still able to be part of the gardening which they miss being able to do themselves.
My plans for this year are to try and start a basic gardening service for the elderly and less-able and turn my new hobby into a new business.
Winning your Gorgeous Gardener prize would really help me to get set up with my own tools as I don’t have any yet!
We are decking round out hot tub and planning to do some colourful planting. It needs to be relatively hardy as we have 3 children and 2 dogs!
