Introducing BoronGreen: a revolution in gardening tools!

As gardeners, we’re all keen to help our little patch of earth thrive and flourish, and for most people, this extends to caring about the planet too.

This year we’re unveiling a new range of tools which will help you do both at the same time! BoronGreen is our major new RHS-endorsed tool range, and we think it marks a revolution in gardening tools, offering something truly unique.

Our patent-pending new BoronGreen range offers the strength and durability of boron steel, together with ambitious sustainability credentials including 80% recycled steel. We believe that this combination marks a first in UK garden tools.

So what is boron steel?

In a nutshell, it’s carbon steel with the addition of a tiny amount of the element boron. It’s a small tweak to the composition of the steel, but it makes a huge difference, opening up a whole new level of performance.

Boron steel has long been used in the automotive and agricultural sectors to deliver stronger structural components, longer-lasting parts such as ploughshares, and bucket teeth for bulldozers. And in gardening tools, boron steel offers performance above and beyond that of a like-for-like tool in carbon steel – but without additional weight.

Sustainable sourcing

This advanced performance isn’t BoronGreen’s sole attraction. The range also holds great appeal for today’s environmentally-aware gardeners, thanks to the consideration we’ve given to sustainability.

Uniquely, the steel used in the tool heads is made from 80 per cent recycled material. The handles and shafts are crafted in FSC-certified white ash wood, sourced from sustainably managed forests.

The finishing touches

All this is combined with our hallmark considered design. FSC®-certified white ash is selected for its strength and shock-absorbing properties, and the grip is carefully thermo-treated for increased comfort, durability and moisture resistance. There’s a tough powder coating in olive green to protect the steel, and there’s a visible sharpened edge on spade, trowel, etc.

All 17 items in the BoronGreen range have a 25 year guarantee, so you know you’re buying a tool that will last. The whole range is endorsed by the RHS – we make the only garden tools endorsed by this trusted name in gardening.

And what’s more, this advanced range is pleasingly affordable, with prices starting from just £8.99 up to £32.99.

We hope you’ll agree that by combining technical performance with sustainable sourcing, BoronGreen really does offer gardeners something truly unique: a true revolution in gardening tools.
