GIMA award win for Burgon & Ball's 'Garden Supplies'
GIMA award win for Burgon & Ball's 'Garden Supplies'

Burgon & Ball, the UK’s longest-established manufacturer of garden tools and accessories, has taken top honours at the GIMA Awards 2018 with its Garden Supplies range of gifts, storage and sundries for gardeners.

In a successful night at the awards, Burgon & Ball was also named a finalist in four other categories, including ‘Garden Tools, Machinery and Implements’ (with the Wonder Weed Puller), 'Best Point of Sale Material’ (with the ‘All You Need’ merchandising kit), and the coveted ‘Supplier of the Year’.

The Sheffield-based manufacturer took first place in the ‘Garden Clothing & Gifts’ category with the Garden Supplies collection. The range has been created to provide perfect solutions for shoppers seeking gifting inspiration for a gardening loved one, combining practicality with exceptionally stylish design.

The GIMA judges described the range as “a beautifully crafted collection, and perfect gifts for gardeners, young and old.” Developed by gardeners, for gardeners, the collection features lots of thoughtful design touches. For example, the seed packet storage tin includes a full-width compartment, for storing the largest of seed packets.

Ruth Posey, head of sales at Burgon & Ball, says: “We are delighted that our Garden Supplies collection has been honoured by the judges. We put a lot of work into designing the range to be not only useful to gardeners, but to be extremely stylish, too – and this award demonstrates that these gifts really are something special.”

Ruth continues: “Sales of Garden Supplies have been consistently strong since we launched the range at GLEE last September, and when we took a selection of items to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in May, they certainly proved hugely popular with visitors to our stand. This award reveals that the collection is a hit with the GIMA UK judges, too – who of course also take into account how products meet the requirements of retailers. We’re delighted that this stylish gifting range ticks all the boxes!”

The range consists of a garden caddy, a seed packet storage tin, a pegboard, a twine dispenser, a bird food container, a set of herb pots in a tray, an indoor watering can, money boxes, and a bits and bobs tin, all available in a selection of colours. With RRPs ranging from just £8.99 up to £24.99, Garden Supplies offers something for every gardener.
