THIS GIVEAWAY HAS NOW CLOSED
We’ve put back the clocks and sunny days now seem a distant memory – but autumn is nonetheless an exciting time for gardeners. Next year’s garden starts right here, right now!
Plant now for a colourful spring
Autumn planting lays the foundations for all the colourful blooms and delicious edibles we want to enjoy next year. Whether you’re planting tasty garlic to overwinter, sweet peas for an early jolt of colour next spring, or salad leaves so you can enjoy fresh tastes through the gloomier months, now’s the perfect time for all kinds of planting.
It’s got to be spring bulbs that deliver the best bang for your buck, though. Plant some of these incredible little timebombs of colour now, and you’ll get pots, beds or borders packed with exuberance just as we start to see the sun again, in the early months of next year. If you opt for snowdrops or early iris, you could have blooms in your garden as soon as January. Now, wouldn’t that lift the mood?
The giveaway
We’ve partnered up with our friends at Miracle-Gro to bring you the chance to win the perfect bundle to get your spring bulbs off to a flying start.
We’re giving away a bundle consisting of 3 x 20 litre bags of Miracle-Gro Bulb Fibre. What’s more, so that you have the perfect tools to do your planting, we’re adding our RHS-endorsed compost scoop and our RHS-endorsed hand-held bulb planter.
Using a specialist formulation of planting medium can give your spring bulbs a great boost. Miracle-Gro’s Bulb Fibre features Fibre-Smart technology to maximise that all-important root growth. In the autumn, it helps bulbs quickly establish strong root systems so they can access water and nutrients. Bulb Fibre also contains 14 minerals, and feeds for up to three months. Not only will your bulbs put on a great show next year, they’ll be able to replenish their reserves and thrive to flower again in successive years. And of course, the formulation is peat-free to help conserve precious habitats. It’s ideal for beds, borders, containers - and for use indoors too.
Our RHS-endorsed hand tools both carry a lifetime guarantee. They feature FSC-certified hardwood handles and stainless steel tool heads. The compost scoop is perfect for working with the Bulb Fibre for planting in containers. The hand-held bulb planter makes short work of planting in beds and borders. Simply twist into the ground to extract a core of earth, pop in your bulb, and replace the core on top. And on to the next one!

GOOD LUCK!
Springs bulbs are fantastic for brightening up those still at times dark and gloomy Spring days, so important for adding a good splash of colour early on in the season.
Have just planted a ‘lasagne’ pot with lots of grit – tulips, mini daffs and violas – hope they survive the torrential rain we’ve had!
I only have pots as I have no garden but I have about 60 in my little backyard ,,,, which I call my garden as I love pottering about in it
I’ve planted a huge pot of Muscari – just love the colour x
I’m looking forward to next Spring and seeing the bulbs peeping through and then blooming and bringing colour and cheer. I will be planting tulips in pots during November.
