Autumn planting lays the foundations for all the colourful blooms and delicious edibles we want to enjoy next year. Whether you’re planting tasty garlic to overwinter, sweet peas for an early jolt of colour next spring, or salad leaves so you can enjoy fresh tastes through the gloomier months, now’s the perfect time for all kinds of planting.

Plant bulbs in pots every year. It is always the first sign spring is on its way when they flower. Narcissi and more recently tulips this year.
I pianted lots of tulip bulbs last year but the squirrel must have feasted on them – pots this year.

Today we planted tulips in some tall pots, we have already put hyacinths in our window boxes and iris and daffodils in some smaller tubs. I’m expecting wonderful results in Spring.
